Since 1989, to Poland foreigners have been arriving Poles from the Soviet Union and
people those seeking international protection. Arrivals of the repatriates resulted from
the ethnic solidarity. The arrivals of refugees were due to international commitments
of the Polish authority. Both groups were relatively small. Experience with the influx of
repatriates and refugees may be useful to adopt other groups of foreigners.
