ABSTRACT
The panellists focused their attention on features which should characterize good manuals on social policy, regarding different needs of specific courses of studies, teaching social policy. The speakers underlined the necessity to include the achievements of various disciplines of science and to combine theoretical and practical knowledge indispensable for social diagnoses and social intervention. The participants pointed to the aims of social policy and its axiology, presented proposals of contents and structure of manuals, postulated to initiate works on a content programme minimum of social policy as an academic subject, also discussed shortcomings and advantages of the textbooks already accessible. Basic differences concerned first of all the question to what a degree teaching social policy should be subordinated to a given idea of social order.
